VAIN & MORTAL™

This notice explains how we identify and protect the brand, artwork, photography and other creative work appearing on this website. It is intended to make our position clear to customers, collaborators and anyone considering reusing VAIN & MORTAL material.

Trade mark status. VAIN & MORTAL™ is used as a trade mark. Relevant UK Intellectual Property Office applications have been filed and remain subject to the applicable examination, publication, opposition and registration process. We do not use the ® symbol to claim registration unless and until the relevant registration has been granted.

Artwork, photography and design

Original artistic works and photography can be protected by copyright automatically under UK law. Rights in work created by collaborating artists may belong to the artist, VAIN & MORTAL, or be used by VAIN & MORTAL under an agreed licence, depending on the individual collaboration. Artist credit does not waive anybody’s rights.

No permission to copy

Unless we expressly say otherwise in writing, displaying material on this website does not grant permission to copy, trace, reproduce, reprint, adapt, manufacture from, sell, redistribute or otherwise commercially exploit VAIN & MORTAL branding, product artwork, photographs or collaborating artists’ work.

If you want to license or reproduce something, ask first. We would much rather discuss legitimate use than deal with unauthorised copying afterwards.

Third-party and collaborating artist rights

Where work is credited to an artist, illustrator, photographer, maker or other collaborator, that person may hold rights in the underlying work. Nothing on this page should be read as VAIN & MORTAL claiming ownership of rights that belong to a collaborator.

Reporting suspected copying

If you believe VAIN & MORTAL work, or work by one of our collaborators, is being copied or sold without permission, email support@vainandmortal.co.uk with the relevant links or screenshots.

This page is a rights notice, not a statement that every pending application has completed registration and not a substitute for legal advice on a particular dispute.
